2024/2025 Kenneth Warren Fellows

IHPBA and the IHPBA Foundation are delighted to announce that, with the generous support of the E. Alexander Stent Fund (CGF), Bank of America, N.A., Trustee we have been able to award three Kenneth Warren Fellowships for 2024/25.

The 2024/25 Kenneth Warren Fellowships have been awarded to Dr Remo Alessandris from Università degli Studi di Padova, Padova, Italy, Dr Yawen Dong from Clinic Favoriten, Vienna, Austria and Dr Pietro Mascagni from Fondazione Policlinico Universitario A. Gemelli IRCCS, Rome, Italy. 

Dr Remo Alessandris will carry out his study on: Investigating the roles of oncogenic extrachromosomal circular DNA (ecDNA) in cholangiocarcinoma at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre, USA, under the mentorship of Dr William Jarnagin.  

Dr Yawen Dong will carry out her study on Elucidating the role of immune cell interactions during human liver regeneration using single nuclear sequencing at the Mayo Clinic, USA under the mentorship of Professor Patrick Starlinger.

Dr Pietro Mascagni will travel to the University of California in the USA to conduct his research on: Video-based assessment of surgical quality and its impact on outcomes in minimally invasive distal pancreatectomy: a step toward artificial intelligence assistance under the mentorship of Professor Adnan Alseidi.

We would like to congratulate Drs Alessandris, Dong and Mascagni on their achievement and wish them all the best with their projects.
