VI. Additional Comments | |
Additional Comments | The UMCG is one of three hospitals in the Netherlands that has a liver transplant program and it the only Dutch hospital that performs all solid organ transplants. The program started in 1979, the HPB and liver transplant fellowship started in 1997. Many of our fellows have established their own HPB and liver transplant program in their native countries since successfully completing the fellowship. The department and fellowship were UEMS certified in 2010. We aspire to train the fellow to the level of a capable and reliable HPB and Liver transplant surgeon. We require the fellow to prepare and apply for the UEMS exam for the HPB certification and the Transplantation Surgery, Modules 1&4. Please include a current passport-sized photograph and your curriculum vitae. In addition we require a Letter of Recommendation from the head of your department. We also require notarized translations in English or Dutch of your official medical education credentials and certification as a surgeon. More information can be obtained at the website of the UMCG. |
